Kakheti wine region - Telavi, Sighnaghi and Tsinandali

Overview

Kakheti is the eastern wine region where Georgians have made wine for 8000 years. Our two- or three-day tour visits the historic capital at Telavi, the Gremi royal complex, the 11th-century Alaverdi Cathedral, the Ikalto Academy where the poet Rustaveli studied, and the Tsinandali estate of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. Wine tastings at family-run cellars throughout. Optional extension to Sighnaghi 'the city of love'.
