Svaneti - Mestia, Ushguli and the medieval towers

Overview

Three days into Georgia's highest inhabited region. Day one drives the spectacular Enguri reservoir road into the mountains and arrives in Mestia, the cultural center of Svaneti. Day two we visit Ushguli, a UNESCO World Heritage village of medieval defense towers, the highest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe. Day three is the return through the mountains.
